This early sunday morning August 31, it is a chilly 9 C (49F) air temp.
I reflect on those shot naked and abandoned in the earthy pits during this period 1942.
Never could I imagine the torture, lying exposed to the elements.
If injured, shivering would take hold until hypothermia finishes the "Coup De Grace".
Grainy old B/W pictures exist, snapped 50 meters away depict the torture.
Images of soldiers and local onlookers gazing over the pits, wearing their fall winter clothing.

Looking deep into my library, I stumble upon a powerful series:
The poor woman is dragged and flopped upon a cart with two naked men.
Just a few days ago, she would never allow herself to be exposed as such.
Breasts and pubic hair open and tossed like naked rubbish.
Yet here she lays, calm, bumping along without care of her awkward pose.
The naked men below seem unaware of her close contact and natural beauty.
