Rumbula massacre was real hell. In November and December of 1941 (cold was really brutal that winter), Jews were forced to march into the forest near Riga, Latvia where theu were told to disrobe (to their underwear) and deposit their clothing and valuables in designated locations and collection boxes, shoes in one, overcoats in another, and so forth.

Then they were shot. Some were forced to wait - in their underwear - for a long time for their turn to be shot. According to some witnesses, some Jews had to take off all their clothes.

Yes, accurate indeed.
Brutal.
I read the Riga execution was very large, full naked was first expected but due to delays and bottle necks with the large crowd, they stripped to underwear to speed things up.

Actually, no. In Latvia, standard operating procedure was to force victims to strip to their underwear (clothes and shoes were in high demand with executioners - many of them were quite poor - while underwear was not). Apparently, at some point some decided that they actually need underwear - and forced victims to get totallly naked.

So it was just pure greed - very common during the Holocaust.

Fall of 1941 was brutally cold - nighttime temperature was +1C on 09/29. Not possible to survive. Period.
