Could have happened... but only if he was a Polish citizen of German blood - and she was Jewess by blood and also a Polish citizen - and then he ended up in SS-Einsatzgruppen or OrPo battalion (these two types of units did almost all Holocaust by bullets outside the Baltic countries) after Poland was occupied. For German citizens - no way; such relationships were strictly forbidden by Nuremberg laws passed in 1935 (you'll be thrown into KL for that).

Did such relationships with such aftermath happen? I have not heard of any (love affairs in ghettos and KL were different stories entirely)... but it does not mean that they did not. It is a well-established fact that Latvians, Lithuanians and Ukrainians shot their Jewish neighbors, classmates and even former lovers in cold blood. Estonians probably as well... not sure about Russians or Byelorussians.

Full nudity seldom happened. Typically, Jews were shoy either fully clothed or in their underwear. The latter happened when the locals wanted their clothes which was not always the case. Judging by pictures and film taken and published, most Jews were shot fully clothed (although such pictures are obviously not statistically significant).

Ice cold... no - exactly the opposite was the case. Fiery Judeophobia (fear of and hatred for the Jews) that was so powerful that it killed all other feelings and emotions.

I read that book. The guy has no clue about investigating mass murders - his book is pure fiction based on lies told by "witnesses" that he does not now how to interrogate many decades after the Holocaust. The only reliable book on Holocaust by bulllets is "Ordinary Men" by Christopher Browning because it is based on transcripts of OrPo trials in West Germany in 1960s.
