Most webm video files play okay, but the naked shot video has a wierd Codec.
Both my Linux player and VLC players protest.

VLC 3.0.21 and mpv v0.41.0 (libavcodec 62.11.100) have no problems with this file.
Which distribution are you using? Debian stable?
AV1 is quite new codec, but even oldstable branch of Debian should support it.
I'm using Manjaro which offers newest software.

The VLC version is 3.0.8 "Vetinari"

Not sure how current it is.

It should match the version of Ubuntu. If you're using 18.04 LTS, then VLC should be from this time with only security fixes without any new features. AV1 codec was officially released in 2018 too. I thought players should support it before official release, but it seems something went wrong. Maybe early implementation of AV1 has some security vulnerabilities and just got removed instead of being fixed.

WOW! I had no idea you are Linux savy!?!? So cool. My Linux is based upon Ubuntu 18.
So cool. Now I know whom to call for techie issues, LOL!
I am learning that printers are a frequent Linux issue, but thats another day....

Problems with old OS releases isn't Linux-specific. Windows 7 users may have problems with AV1 codec too. You need either to update to an actual Ubuntu release, either install new version of VLC or other player through PPA or Snap.
