Not on history, alas - on hearsay, mostly (such movies are - unfortunately - propaganda, not history). First, there is plenty of documentary footage of real shootings which looks nowhere like this. Second, there was a trial of Battallion 101 policemen who did such shootings on numerous occassions in 1942-43. They were tried by West German courts in 1960s and 1970s, so no torture of defendants was allowed (it was common right after the war) and all witnesses (and defendands) were cross-examined according to proper judicial procedures.

As the result, it turned out that real Standard Operating Procedure of "Holocaust by bullets" - which was pretty much followed everywhere - was very, very different from the one depicted in such books and movies. For starters, the process was calm and ordely (Jews NEVER resisted); machine guns were NEVER used (too much ammunition was wasted); victims were usually shot either clothed or in underwear (nudity was rare) and shot point blank in the head or heart (Himmler's orders were to make death as merciful as possible). Shooting from behind - always.

Local police NEVER did the shootings - it was done by either SS-Einsatzgruppen, or Wehrmacht police battalions (locals did it in the Baltics - but they were paramilitaries, not the police).

Nice that Roland chimed in! Hello!

Yes, he is correct.

Quote " (locals did it in the Baltics - but they were paramilitaries, not the police).

The locals in the baltics often stripped the victims naked first. Yes?

It's hard to say for sure - witnesses are unreliable, to put it mildly. There is documentary footage of these shootings (images and documentary footage) - and it is all over the place. Mostly fully clothed, sometimes in underwear, sometimes naked. Given the exceptional brutality of mass murder of Jews in Latvia and Lithuania by the locals (hundreds were burned alive), I will not be surprised if they did - and raped women en masse.

Discovered a new war drama film called "We were the Lucky Ones" 2024.
Shown on Hulu TV around the world.
Looks very well made, powerful TV-MA rating with graphic scenes, violence and nudity.

Sharing video caps from Episode 4, shootings are off camera.

Wow! - Sharing Earl.

PS: These screen caps are original unaltered.
